Ingredients
- 7 Pounds Cucumbers, sliced
- 3 Cups Pickling Lime
- 2 Gallons Cold Water
Syrup
- 5 Pounds Sugar
- 2 Quarts Vinegar
- 1 teaspoon Salt
- 1 teaspoon Whole Cloves
- 1 teaspoon Allspice
- 1 teaspoon Celery Seed
- 1 Cinnamon Stick
Directions
- Combine sliced cucumbers, pickling lim, and cold water
- Let stand for 24 hours
- Drain and soak in clear cold water for 4 hours, changing the water every hour
- Combine all the syrup ingredients in a large pot
- Bring to a boil
- Pour over pickles and let stand overnight
