Simple White Gravy

Ingredients

  • 4 Tablespoons Butter
  • 1/3 Cup Flour
  • 3 Cups Whole Milk
  • 1 teaspoon Black Pepper 
  • Sausage or Dried Beef,  optional

Directions

  • Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat until completely melted.
  • Whisk in flour and cook for 1 to 2 minutes until crumbly.  Add milk and continue whisking until the flour mixture is completely incorporated.
  • Continue to whisk until the sauce has thickened to the consistency you desire.
  • Add pepper and meat, and stir until well mixed.
  • Serve warm over toast or biscuits.
