Ingredients
- 4 Tablespoons Butter
- 1/3 Cup Flour
- 3 Cups Whole Milk
- 1 teaspoon Black Pepper
- Sausage or Dried Beef, optional
Directions
- Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat until completely melted.
- Whisk in flour and cook for 1 to 2 minutes until crumbly. Add milk and continue whisking until the flour mixture is completely incorporated.
- Continue to whisk until the sauce has thickened to the consistency you desire.
- Add pepper and meat, and stir until well mixed.
- Serve warm over toast or biscuits.
